Caramel Custard or Creme Caramel or Flan...whatever you call this, I made this for the first time recently, which is rather surprising given that this was one of my favorite homemade desserts growing up. I remember my Mother making this somewhat often probably due to my frequent requests. So it does surprise me that while I make desserts regularly, this isn't one that I've tried. All that changed when on a whim thought I'd give it a go. I put my own spin on it by infusing the custard with thyme (just because I had some). End result was a very familiar favorite which brought back some good memories of me sitting on our verandah eating spoonfuls of cold caramel custard to combat the tropical heat.
Perfect dessert to combat that summer heat!
